Tiyani Mabunda has revealed that Mamelodi Sundowns are looking to secure their first domestic double since claiming the Telkom Knockout and Absa Premiership in the 2015/16 campaign.

Masandawana booked their spot in the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against National First Division outfit, Cape Town All Stars at the Athlone Stadium on Friday night.

Pitso Mosimane’s side occupy top spot on the log standings and Mabunda is confident that they can win both.

‘It’s actually what we are planning to do. We want to get the remaining cups here at Chloorkop,’ he said in post-match comments.

‘We have not won anything this season, so there’s only the two cups on offer. I believe we can do well and we can do that.

‘That will prepare us for our campaign on the continent,’ he concluded.

Sundowns’ next assignment sees them face Free State Stars in a league clash on Wednesday night with kickof set for 19:30.
