Mamelodi Sundowns defender Motjeka Madisha says the Brazilians capitalised on Ajax Cape Town’s weaknesses following their 2-1 victory on Tuesday.
The Brazilians came from behind to secure all three points against the Urban Warriors after goals from Ricardo Nascimento and Sibusiso Vilakazi cancelled out Fagrie Lakay’s opener.
Sundowns has now moved four points clear of Cape Town City at the top of the Absa Premiership standings with 31 points from 16 games.
Man of the Match Madisha says his side did their homework on Ajax and capitalised on their weaknesses.
‘Firstly, I would like to thank my family, God and coaches. Without our coaches, I don’t think I would be man of the match today,’ Madisha told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘As you know, we lost two games in a row so the coaches encouraged us to keep our heads up for this game and focus.
‘We came here prepared and did our homework. We knew how they play, their strengths and weaknesses. So we had to capitalise more on their weaknesses to give our best.’
Mamelodi Sundowns will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they lock horns with Orlando Pirates at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 15:30.
