Kaizer Chiefs has confirmed that new signing Kabelo Mahlasela will be out of action for four months after picking up a knee injury.
The 26-year-old sustained a meniscus tear during his first training with the Glamour Boys after completing his move from Bloemfontein Celtic.
Chiefs team physio Dave Milner confirmed that Mahlasela will be sidelined for the rest of the 2017-18 campaign.
‘Kabelo Mahlasela will be out of action for four months,’ Milner told the clubs official website. ‘The procedure to repair a tear in his meniscus inside the knee went well.’
‘Mahlasela had just passed his medicals a day before the injury occurred,’ he concluded. ‘It is one of those unlucky situations that often happen in sports.’
Meanwhile, Bernard Parker continues to recover from an ankle niggle and will be assessed this week, while Tsepo Masilela has already began with his with running exercises.
