Rivaldo Coetzee’s agent, Mike Makaab, says he feels it’s the right time for his client to continue his growth and make the move abroad.
The 20-year-old recently returned to the club after he went AWOL for two weeks, with reports suggesting he was trying to force a move away from the Urban Warriors.
The defender’s agent, Mike Makaab, confirmed that Coetzee has drawn interest from Europe, with Danish club Brondby IF and Belgium outfit KV Oostende reportedly interested in signing the young defender.
‘There is interest in Sweden and Denmark. Also, a club in Belgium is keen on him, as are two other clubs locally,’ Makaab told the Independent Media.
With Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs eager to sign Coetzee, Makaab believes that his client is ready to prove himself in Europe.
‘I feel this is the right time for Rivaldo to go overseas. He is 20 (years old) and has close to 30 Bafana caps,’ he added.
‘He has already played at the (Africa) Nations Cup and the Olympics, and he is close to 100 PSL matches. He is ready for Europe and he can grow there.’
Makaab also confirmed that his client is scheduled to meet with Ajax sometime next week to discuss Coetzee’s future.
