Chippa United coach Dan Malesela says he was pleased with his side’s performances after playing five matches at a camp in Cape Town before the Absa Premiership returns.
The Chilli Boys departed from Port Elizabeth for a weeklong camp in Cape Town where they played five friendly matches as they prepare for the next Absa Premiership match against Baroka.
Malesela says he was boosted by the return of several players returning from injury but insists that he was pleased with the Chilli Boys performance during the camp.
‘The return of the players that were injured boosted the team and competition in the team,’ Malesela told the Chippa United website.
‘The objective of the camp was to play as many games as possible and we were pleased with the response from the players on the games we played. We were able to look at different combinations. Out of the five games we played, we scored in four games.
‘We are always looking at building camaraderie in the in the team. The mental aspect also very important and the camp gives us an opportunity to focus on those areas.’
Chippa United against Baroka kicks off at 19:30.
