Chippa United coach Dan Malesela insists his team did enough right against Orlando Pirates despite going down 1-0 at home on Tuesday night.

Tendai Ndoro continued his fine form and scored what was ultimately the only goal in the 21st minute.

While the Chilli Boys coach questioned the goal, he remained upbeat about what he saw from his side.

‘We had a few defensive errors that cost us. That first one … that goal shouldn’t have happened. We make that one error and it results in a goal,’ said Malesela after the game.

‘Well done to Pirates. They scored a goal. They won. But again we are missing (chances).

‘I don’t know if (referee) Daniel (Bennett) should have a look again at that decision at the end. I also have to look at it.

‘Instead of getting us down, it brings us confidence. If we make a team like Pirates defend, then it means we are on the right track. It’s just a matter of time.’

The loss, Chippa’s second in a row at home, sees the Port Elizabeth side sit in 10th place after nine games.
