Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka believes that it is vital that the Glamour Boys start the new year with a win when the face SuperSport United in their first game of 2020.
Amakhosi are back in action on Saturday night with a clash against the MTN8 Champions at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Ernst Middendorp’s chargers will be hoping to extend their seven point lead at the top of the league standings after an impressive end to 2019 saw them enjoy a healthy advantage over their rivals during the festive period.
‘We are eager to start the year 2020 with a win. It’s always good to start off on a positive note,’ Maluleka told the club’s website.
‘We have been working very hard at training after spending some time with our families over Christmas. Because of the work we have put in, we need to have a good start.
‘We did not end off the year the way we would have liked – with a draw, but it’s a new year, new start and we have new ambitions.’
