Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebogang Manyama has urged his side to maintain their current form in the Absa Premiership heading into the new year.

The Glamour Boys are set for a congested fixture list in January and will play six league games, including against SuperSport United and Bidvest Wits.

Amakhosi are currently on a seven-game winning run in the league and seven points clear at the top of the PSL standings, with 31 points from 12 matches played so far this season.

However, Manyama insists it’s important for his side to secure maximum points in their upcoming games as they head into the new year.

‘We want to try and take six points from these last games because there will be a tough schedule with big games in January,’ Manyama told the media.

‘It’s very important to keep the momentum going. It is another important game, another three important points for us, so we have to try and do our best.’

Amakhosi face Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

‘Obviously, it is another tough game against a very good team. One of the teams who play the best football in the country. I have watched them a few times. They have some good players,’ he added.

‘But it is another chance for us to get three points and extend the gap and obviously try to keep our momentum going and make our fans happy.’
