Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Oupa Manyisa says his side played with the right mentality during their comfortable 3-0 victory over Platinum Stars on Saturday.
A brace from Khama Billiat and a goal by Sibusiso Vilakazi helped the Brazilians claim three points at Loftus Versfeld Stadium to move four points clear at the summit of the Absa Premiership standings.
Manyisa says he was happy to see his side maintain their mentality to create chances in the final third, after putting three goals past Dikwena.
‘Firstly, I’d like to thank my teammates and the technical team for giving me an opportunity to play today,’ Manyisa told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘We told ourselves that we need to forget about the past results and move on in life. So we came here with the right mentality of trying to convert the chances we create.
‘We told ourselves that we need to manage the game because we were 3-0 up we can’t just go forward, forward. We had to maintain the pace of the game.
‘They always tell us to use the experience that we got from Caf to try and bring the game down. The opponents wants to score so you have to take the game down and play our normal game.’
Mamelodi Sundowns will next travel to the FNB Stadium when they take on Kaizer Chiefs in a mouth-watering Absa Premiership clash on Saturday, with kick-off set for 20:15.
