Maritzburg United are set to lock horns with Golden Arrows in a double bill of fixtures within a week, in the Absa Premiership and Nedbank Cup respectively.
The Team of Choice will travel to Durban for their KwaZulu-Natal derby encounter in the Absa Premiership at the Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday.
Then the two sides will meet again in the Nedbank Cup at the Chatsworth Stadium on Sunday March 12, with kick-off set for 15:00.
The KZN derby is arguably one of the most fiercely contested in South African football as both teams tend to produce quality football with a lot of intensity, and more importantly, goals.
The Team of Choice goes into this game one point behind Abafana bes’Thende with 23 points, occupying eighth and seventh positions respectively.
In their previous Absa Premiership Abafana bes’Thende earned a point when they were forced to share the spoils with Chippa United, following their 2-2 draw at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium last weekend.
Meanwhile, the Team of Choice claimed a 2-1 victory over Free State Stars at the Harry Gwala Stadium to place them in the top eight in the Absa Premiership standing.
Maritzburg will now go head-to-head with Golden Arrows in a KZN derby in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
The match at the Chatsworth Stadium kicks off at 18:00.
