Mekoa fell down the pecking order under the guidance of coach Eric Tinkler this campaign. He had made only six appearances in all competitions before his departure, with his last for Maritzburg coming at the start of December.
The versatile wing will be hoping to get much-needed game time as the Urban Warriors fight to gain promotion back to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Over the course of his career, Mekoa has scored 11 goals and assisted a further 22 from 141 appearances in across all competitions playing for the likes of Maritzburg United and Ajax Cape Town.
