Orlando Pirates captain Thabo Matlaba rues his side’s missed chances during their 1-1 draw with AmaZulu at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
The Buccaneers were forced to share the spoils with Usuthu at the Orlando Stadium after Ntsikelelo Nyauza redeemed himself by cancelling out his own-goal.
Matlaba believes his side should have won a trophy after their dominant performance against a stubborn AmaZulu side.
‘We did play well but we didn’t convert our chances. As we always complain about not scoring goals but we played well, hey AmaZulu is a very stubborn team they can play and defend very well,’ Matlaba told SuperSport after the game.
‘But the way we play, we deserve a trophy but let’s get results. Football will reward you; football will give back if you invest in it.
‘To be honest it’s a difficult time, but you can see the fans, they are behind us. They are singing, we did very well but we are not converting our chances.
‘We just need one touch there at the goals and we get the three points. The three points are very important. We are playing Free State in our next game we have to make sure that (we) win it.’
Orlando Pirates will be hoping to return to their winning ways when they take on Free State Stars at Goble Park on Saturday, with kick-off set for 18:00.
