Memela was one of Pirates’ standout performers during the 2017-18 campaign, having scored five goals and assisted a further seven from 23 appearances in all competitions.
He also helped the Buccaneers secure their spot in the Caf Champions League after finishing second in the Absa Premiership standings last season.
The 30-year-old believes his side can enhance their impressive performances from last season to aid their chances of winning silverware this season.
‘There’s a lot that we still have to improve, and obviously we must win trophies, which is what we all want to do,’ Memela told KickOff.com.
‘If it was up to me, I would want the team to win all the trophies because we’ve got quality, we just have to work hard, listen to the coaches and do our homework.

‘We get homework to analyse teams… looking at how we’re going to penetrate them and how they’re going to try and penetrate us, and also how we’re going to solve it.
‘If we work together as we did, especially towards the end of the [2017-18] season, I think we’re going to get something.’
Orlando Pirates will take on Highlands Park in their opening Absa Premiership fixture at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 8:15pm.
