Orlando Pirates midfielder Luvuyo Memela says it’s easy to play with quality teammate Gabadinho Mhango as the duo continue to combine well for the Buccaneers.
Former Bidvest Wits man Mhango joined the club at the start of the season and has taken the league by storm with 12 goals in 16 games.
Mhango may have got off to a slow start as he forced his way into the starting lineup at Pirates, but has scored 10 goals in his last 8 league games.
The 27-year-old has been key to the turnaround in form under new German coach Josef Zinnbauer as Pirates have won four games from five.
Speaking after the 3-1 win over Highlands Park, Memla admitted that it’s easy to play with Mhango and revealed that their understanding is only improving.
‘I think we are combining [well] as a team. When you have the quality of Mhango, [Thembinkosi] Lorch, and [Vincent] Pule, especially us [the senior guys], we are used to each other, it’s easy to play with the player like Mhango.
‘We know that he [Mhango] likes to go to the left side, and cut in right, where he knows he’s got a good right foot.
‘So, the only thing that I need to do is look for him. And he knows that when I get the ball in space, I’ll try and turn. And then he’ll have to make a run and see if I’ll find him.’
