Ajax Cape Town coach Stanley Menzo believes Sameehg Doutie has the quality to help his side turn around their form this season.
The 27-year-old recently signed a contract with the club, which keeps him contracted to the club until the end of the 2016-17 season.
Menzo has heaped praise Doutie after the player return to the Urban Warriors following spells at Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United, Bidvest Wits and Atletico de Kolkata.
‘I think he is a good player, a typical Ajax player, Ajax winger – he knows the system, he knows the club,’ Menzo told the Ajax Cape Town website.
‘He has a lot of quality, I think it is a very good signing.
‘Also again, it is some recognition for the fans, he is a real Ajax player, he was here in the academy so it is up to him now to showcase those qualities.
He added: ‘I think with Doutie, he is more a “fine” attacking player; great in playing between the lines, giving through balls, through passes. He has a good cross, good at set-pieces. He can read the game and that is important, especially up front,’ He added.
On his return to the club, Doutie played his part during the Urban Warriors 2-0 victory over Cape Town All Stars on Saturday after coming on as a second-half substitute.
Ajax Cape Town will next travel to the Bidvest Stadium when they take on Bidvest Stadium in the Absa Premiership on February 7.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 19:30.
