Gabadinho Mhango is slowly breaking away from the pack in the race for the PSL Golden Boot after scoring his 11th goal in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday evening.
The Malawi international had the only score of the game to guide the Buccaneers to a narrow 1-0 victory over the Brazilians at the Orlando Stadium during midweek PSL action.
Mhango has now moved to the top of the goal-scoring charts with 11 goals from 15 appearances, while AmaZulu’s Bongi Ntuli is second with 10 goals after 18 matches played in the league so far this season.
The likes of Samir Nurkovic and Peter Shalulile are both tied in third place, with nine goals apiece, followed by Bradley Grobler and Knox Mutizwa in fourth with eight goals each, while Leonardo Castro and Kermit Erasmus are not far behind them with seven goals.
