Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp says forward Khama Billiat will be available for their upcoming Absa Premiership clash with SuperSport United.
The Zimbabwe international missed the first two games of the new season after struggling with a knee injury sustained during the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) with Zimbabwe.
In the absence of Billiat, Amakhosi secured their second-consecutive win in the league after claiming a narrow 1-0 victory over Black Leopards through a goal from Eric Mathoho.
The Glamour Boys have now now moved up to first place in the league standings, level on six points with second-placed Polokwane City.
Middendorp explained that Billiat missed their second game of the campaign as he continues to recover from his injury setback.
‘It is a matter of managing the player. I see the matter is receiving interest but everybody at Chiefs is aware that Khama Billiat struggled with his knee during Afcon and we are trying to give him the necessary care to recover,’ Middendorp told his club’s official website.
‘He will have time in the next week to recover and be available for selection in the next match.’
Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping to continue their winning ways when they host SuperSport United in their next Absa Premiership encounter at the FNB Stadium on 24 August, which kicks off at 6pm.
