Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp believes his team has to deliver the points and keep on winning if they want to stay ahead of the pressure in the title race.
The Glamour Boys extended their lead back to six points following their 3-0 midweek win over Highlands Park after seeing their 10-point gap from over the festive break slashed.
They, however, have Mamelodi Sundowns as well as a host of other teams who are eyeing the top of the table and with a number of games to go, the title is far from decided.
Middendorp admits his side is feeling the pressure as other teams close in on them.
‘The pressure of winning the league title is now getting to us as other teams are getting closer to us in the race,’ said the German coach.
‘But it’s our time to deliver the points and we have to keep on winning to make things easier.’
‘We have a great advantage and we are relieved that our win has opened up a six-point lead,’ he added.
‘But we must be careful and go into the next game here with a positive mindset and put what happened against Highlands at the back of our minds.’
