Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has hinted that Itumeleng Khune could reclaim his No 1 spot at the club.
Khune returned to action this weekend in the Nedbank Cup win over Royal Eagles, his first appearance since September.
The Chiefs skipper’s return in September came after a lengthy break due to a shoulder injury, but it seemed too soon as Khune quickly found himself out of the team again.

In his absence Daniel Akpeyi has shone and rightfully earned his spot as the leading keeper at the club.
Chiefs are next in action on Saturday night in an Absa Premiership clash with Maritzburg United and Middendorp has revealed that he will speak to his technical team before deciding on who will start in goal.
‘We have good goalies … all of them qualified to do the job for us. Let’s hear what the technical team says, I will be guided by their advice. Akpeyi has done well for us, saving us in certain situations. Maybe Khune will be back in goals soon,’ the German told the club’s official website.
