Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has urged his side to carry their current momentum over to their next Absa Premiership clash with Maritzburg United.
The Glamour Boys extended their winning run in the Absa Premiership to eight games following their thrilling 5-3 victory over Bloemfontein Celtic at the Moses Mabhida Stadium over the weekend.
The win stretched Amakhosi’s lead at the summit of the league standings to 10 points over second-placed SuperSport United (24) after 13 matches played so far this season.
Despite clinching their eighth consecutive win in a row, Middendorp says they have already been working hard to prepare for the next game as he looks to end the year on a positive note.
‘We are emphasising this in our team talk,’ Middendorp told his club’s official website.
‘We want to keep the momentum. We want to keep working hard in each and every game. The team is well aware of this.
‘We have already started with preparations for the next match. The last match of the year is the most important agenda point for us.’
Kaizer Chiefs will now travel to the Harry Gwala Stadium when they take on Maritzburg United in their next Absa Premiership clash on 22 December, with kick-off scheduled for 3:30pm.
