Orlando Pirates midfielder Xola Mlambo believes that interim coach Rhulani Mokwena has done a great job at the club, saying the team have just been unfortunate with results.
The young coach has been in the hot seat since Milutin Sredojevic’s shock exit, but results have not been forthcoming during the transition.
Mlambo, though, has thrown his support behind Mokwena saying he will take the team to greater heights.
‘He’s a good coach. He tries and he is doing his best to make sure the team is settled, to make sure the team is stabilised. He is doing a lot of teaching,’ Mlambo told Soccer Laduma.
‘It’s a great job that coach Rhulani is doing because in most cases when a team loses a head coach, most of the teams struggle in a lot of ways. But if you can look and compare, there has not been much of a struggle.
‘The team still plays good football, we are scoring goals. It’s just unfortunate we lost the game against [Bidvest] Wits. Ever since he took charge of the team, we’ve only lost one [league] game and we were just unfortunate not to get a win in the draw against Golden Arrows and in the game against AmaZulu. Those are games we could have won, but luck was not on our side. I feel he is doing a great job and I feel he can take the team to greater heights,’ he concluded.
