Orlando Pirates midfielder Linda Mntambo has thanked the technical team at the club after he capped off a good run of games with a goal against Free State Stars.
The former Chippa United man has had to bide his time trying to break into Milutin Sredojevic’s team.
He has, however, began to feature and capped off a string of good performances when he scored a late goal to help guide his side to a 3-1 win over Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership on Tuesday evening.
Mntambo was awarded the Man of the Match award for his performance, and thanked the entire technical team at Pirates for giving him the opportunity.
‘It felt so good and at least the coaches have been giving me some starts of late and I’m very grateful for that,’ he told SuperSport TV.
‘And even if we are coming from a defeat in the Telkom Knockout finals, we had to bounce back and I’m very happy the boys managed to pull through and I managed to score.
‘It felt great to score my first goal for the club in the PSL. I have been scoring in the Caf Champions League and I’m really grateful for that,’ added the midfielder.
‘Thank you to everybody who has been supporting us, the supporters, technical team and everybody in the team,’ he concluded.
