African champions Mamelodi Sundowns will be well prepared for the challenge Kaizer Chiefs bring on Saturday in the PSL match of the weekend, says Lucky Mohomi.
Mohomi, who has never featured in a Sundowns vs Chiefs match, is confident that his side will be up to the task when the third-placed Amakhosi arrive in Pretoria.
Sundowns have had the better of this encounter, especially in Pretoria, winning 3-1 in the last two matches there. Mohomi believes that Saturday’s clash will be played for vital league points as well as pride.
‘This is a big game, and we all have been preparing well for the game,’ said Mohomi.
‘The spirit in the camp is high, and we all know that this will be a high-intensity game. And then there is the matter of pride as well, and the winning mentality that is now ingrained in our side.
‘We also know that the pressure is high, but that is what you expect when you play for a big team like Mamelodi Sundowns. We have undoubtedly one of the best coaches, and he knows how to prepare his team for any challenge. It’s not going to be easy, but we will do what we have to do,’ he added.
The match at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 15:30.
