Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena admits he is expecting a “very difficult” Nedbank Cup final against a “well-coached” Marumo Gallants outfit.

The Brazilians advanced to the last two of the competition following their 2-1 victory over Royal AM at the Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday evening, after Aubrey Modiba and Pavol Safranko cancelled out Thabo Matlaba’s equalising goal.

Sundowns will be at home when they take on defending champions Marumo Gallants in the final at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, scheduled for 28 May.

However, Mokwena says his side will now focus on their remaining four matches in the DStv Premiership before the Nedbank Cup final.

“We will think about Marumo Gallants as we come, both teams will be [playing] away but, of course, because of the draw we are the home team,” Mokwena told his club’s official website.

“It is a very good side, well coached, we watched their game yesterday and it’s going to be a very difficult final but, first things first, is Stellies, Chiefs and Royal AM and then we move and focus on the final.

“Mamelodi Sundowns is a club that expects us to win every single match, for now we focus on the next four games which are left in the league and we try to make sure that we win all the matches that are remaining and hopefully that momentum carries us out.”
