The Clever Boys maintained their perfect start to the campaign following their 1-0 victory over Orlando Pirates on Wednesday evening.
The 28-year-old, who was named Man of the Match, says his side showed ‘great character’ against Pirates but insists they have to remain humble after playing three games so far this season.
‘The modern game requires a lot of hard work. At the end of the day, you have to do what you have to do for the team,’ Monare told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘The boys showed great character tonight, we worked hard as a team. We were united, we defended very well I think. Credit to the boys, we gave it our all tonight.
‘We just apply what the coach [Gavin Hunt] tells us. We’ve been working on it during the pre-season and during our friendlies so it’s working now.
‘We need to keep on working hard. We need to be grounded and understand that it’s too early to get ahead of ourselves.’
