Mamelodi Sundowns right back Thapelo Morena insists they will fight for everything when they take on Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.
The Tshwane giants will head into this encounter hoping to extend their unbeaten run across all competitions to eight games when they face the Team of Choice away from home.
Sundowns currently have an 18-point lead at the summit of the league standings with 51 points from 22 matches, while Maritzburg are placed 12th with 18 points after 20 matches.
Morena, who has scored two and assisted two goals, is expecting a difficult game at the Harry Gwala Stadium as they look to further extend their lead as log leaders.
“It’s going to be a very difficult game for us. Usually, when we go to Maritzburg we are going to have to fight for everything. The most important thing for us as a team is that we have a process and that we are following our process; we take every game the way it comes,” Morena told his club’s official website.
“Going into the game we want to carry over the aggression, the hard work and the willingness to play. We created good chances and scored good goals, so that’s the most important thing we want to take.
“We want to be able to convert the chances we create, we know they are going to play a very transitional game so we really need to be spot on when it comes to our counter-pressing and dealing with those situations like we did in the previous game.
“I think as players and the technical staff we take our recovery sessions very seriously, we work a lot on recovery. As a player playing every two days even when you are at home you have to try and be fresh and be in the right frame of mind.”
