AmaZulu have confirmed that veteran midfielder Michael Morton has extended his stay at the club by a further two years.
Usuthu have struck a deal with Morton to make his season-long loan spell from Supersport United a permanent stay after signing a two-year deal with the KZN outfit.
AmaZulu General Manager Lunga Sokhela thanked the 28-year-old for electing to play another part in Usuthu’s objectives this season.
‘We have come to an agreement with Michael Morton to extend his stay with us for another two years,’ Sokhela told his club’s official website.
‘Morton is a player who has shown great commitment to our cause, and we are only happy to keep him.’
Meanwhile, the midfielder expressed his delight in concluding talks with Usuthu.
‘I’m just happy to have settled things, I know where my future lies. It’s a nice relief,’ Morton said.
‘I didn’t sign for a team that I don’t think is not going to be in the PSL next season. We have to make sure we keep the status by obviously working hard. There’s nine games left and we’re not too far now.
‘Everyone’s inputs is going to be important and I just want to play a part in that.’
AmaZulu will next travel to Goble Park when they take on Free State Stars in the Absa Premiership on Saturday, with kickoff set for 20:15.
