Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes that the performances of Golden Arrows and Baroka should earn respect from the other PSL teams, but insists that the real test will come at a later stage.

Arrows and Baroka played to a 1-1 draw in their Absa Premiership encounter last night, ensuring that they remain the only two unbeaten teams in the league, occupying spots one and two on the league table.

When quizzed about the surprising form of the minnows, Mosimane told KickOff: ‘It’s reality… We need to accept reality. Remember last year when Cape Town City popped up, everybody said, “Ja, it’s a question of time, they’ll come down” – they stayed there, and they are now going to play in Africa next year.

‘It’s reality, Baroka is doing well, you just have to say how many games you’ve played, how many you’ve lost and how many you’ve won – that’s been a fact.

‘These things do happen – we lost against Polokwane City, who did very well, and we lost – it’s a fact, it’s reality,’ he added.

The former Bafana Bafana mentor maintains, however, that things could change as the fixtures begin to come in thick and fast.

‘You never know what’s going to happen, but always you’ll see the big boys come up again at the end – you know the story, especially when you start accumulating more games.

‘After these games we’ll have about six games in a row, with a game every three days. Depth, mentality, regeneration, how you train, how you play – you’ll see again things [on the log] start to shape differently,’ he concluded.
