With the resumption of the PSL looming, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane admits that his squad has been hit with several injuries as they struggle with the physical demands after the restart was pushed back to August.

Teams across the PSL began training several weeks ago as they prepared themselves for the resumption of the league.

The teams, however, were preparing for a restart in July but that has now been pushed out to at least August after delays in agreeing terms with Safa.

The league, though, is yet to make an official announcement about the camapign’s return date, but indications suggest 1 August as the likely date.

Amid all these challenges, Mosimane revealed on his official Twitter account his side have been struggling in training with no clear indication of when the season will start.

‘We are experiencing lots of injuries. Training load content was designed for games starting in July. Football training periodisation and principles of training of progressive loading are [all] thrown out of the window and unfortunately that is the reality [and] players suffer,’ Mosimane stated.
