Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane expects captain Hlompho Kekana to extend his stay with the Chloorkop based-outfit, but were he to leave, he would move abroad.
Kekana has enjoyed a successful six-year tenure after joining Masandawana in 2011 from Bloemfontein Celtic. The Bafana Bafana international, who is eligible for contract negotiations having entered the final six months of his contract with Sundowns, is yet to sign on the dotted line, but Mosimane is adamant that the player, affectionately known as ‘Gonzales’, will remain at the club.

‘I am not worried about Hlompho (Kekana),’ Mosimane told reporters.
‘Really, if he were to leave, he will go overseas. Where is he going? Does he want to play (Caf) Champions League or not? You can choose to go to a team that doesn’t play Champions League, it’s up to him.
‘Champions League is big. It takes you to the (Fifa Club) World Cup and gives you a position in Bafana Bafana. So, you choose what you want, and we look after our players,’ he added.
Mosimane suggested that money would not be the motivating factor for Kekaha’s decision to leave or stay, citing Sundowns’ incentive allowing players to share the total prize money of cup competitions won.
‘I think you know what happens with the prize money when we win any cup. How many trophies did we win last season? And the president gives us all the money. I think anyone should think about it when you want to cross the floor because of a salary, only because someone pays R10 000 more.
‘It’s difficult to outbid Sundowns, because it’s not about money, but prestige,’ he concluded.
