Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed the club has already signed one player and is expected to sign another player soon.
The reigning Absa Premiership champions have reportedly signed Guinea-Bissau international Toni Silva, who was recently on the book at Greek Superleague outfit Levadiakos.
Mosimane insists the club will not go on a ‘shopping spree’ and will only sign two or three players to prove his loyalty to his players.
‘We have already signed one and we are about to sign another one,’ Mosimane told FarPost.
‘Mamelodi Sundowns is no longer doing the thing of [signing] 15 players, remember? It’s two or three all the time and we know who we want. We know where we need to reinforce. We are not going to go on a shopping spree.
‘That thing [shopping spree] backfires sometimes, hey. I don’t want to mention clubs’ names, so after you win the league [you think] this [what you have] is not good and you bring everybody in.
‘We need to be very careful and I must be loyal to the boys who do it week in and week out with me, more especially when they deliver the performances, you know,’ he concluded.
Mamelodi Sundowns will play host to Wydad Athletic Club when the two sides meet in the Caf Champions League at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday, with kick-off set for 9pm.
