Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has hailed what he believes is a big point for his side against title rivals Orlando Pirates.
The Brazilians came into the encounter three points ahead of the Sea Robbers, and were looking to extend their lead as the race for the Absa Premiership crown begins to heat up.
Downs, however, came up against a strong Pirates side and after a tight tactical battle Mosimane and his chargers were seemingly happy to manage the game and settle for a draw.
Speaking to the media after the match, Mosimane admitted that although he would have loved to have won the match-up, he was more than happy to take the point and run.
‘There are big games that you would love to win. You guys saw me running down the line in FNB (Stadium) when Lebohang (Maboe) scored the winner against Kaizer Chiefs, I knew how big those three points were.
‘The point we took away at Bidvest Wits, huge point and the point tonight is a big point, so you have to manage these games, of course you want to win, but what does the game say.
Still top of the table and 3 points clear! Morning Masandawana!👆💛#Sundowns #ForeverYellow pic.twitter.com/eeQqdxIMYD

‘The game says that Orlando Pirates is pressing you, they are giving their best, you must remember Pirates needed to win tonight,’ Mosimane added.
‘You must also remember Pirates are playing Wits, so one of them will drop points there. We dropped two points tonight, Pirates dropped two points tonight, so somebody also has to drop two points or three points on Saturday (between Wits and Pirates), so now we have to beat SuperSport United which is a big game.
‘You cannot play an emotional game, we are not rookies in this race. We move slowly, it’s a big point tonight and the games are getting less,’ concluded the Downs coach.
