Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed that the signing of Andile Jali is very likely.
Mosimane confirmed on Tuesday that the club is locked in negotiations with free agent Jali, who is also a target of Big Three rivals Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
‘I haven’t met him. We have been busy and you must know Andile has no pressure, he’s got a clearance,’ Mosimane said of the former KV Oostende man.
‘He’s got no stress, so we are negotiating. When you negotiate, it means he is interested otherwise you close the door and say “I have signed with somebody” or “ngizonibona [I will see you]”.
‘But he is on the table so it is possible. And it is highly possible.’
The former Bafana Bafana coach believes that the former Orlando Pirates player would bring a lot to the Sundowns midfield, especially with his experience and game attitude.
‘With all the games that we are playing, with the experience he has, the game attitude – he fits in well.
‘He can play and pass the ball in the midfield, and he works hard.
‘The only challenge will be that hunger. Does he really, really want to come and play in the PSL and finish well? Or is it “by the way, I’m no longer there and I want to come home maybe because of family problems”? Or maybe he wants to be with his family now?
‘So that’s also important. Does he also want to play for us?’
