Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane revealed his disappointment after the 0-0 draw with Bloemfontein Celtic, saying Lebogang Maboe scored a goal that should not have been disallowed.

The defending Absa Premiership champions dominated the proceedings on Wednesday but a combination of wasteful finishing, good defending and refereeing decisions meant that the Brazilians had to settle for a point.

After missing a number of opportunities in the first half, Downs thought they took the lead when Maboe hit the back of the net with only eight minutes left on the clock. The strike, however, was ruled out as Themba Zwane was in an offside position.

Mosimane was visibly upset with the decision at the time, as Zwane did not interfere with the move.

Speaking after the game to SuperSport TV, Mosimane lamented the decision which cost his side all three points.

‘We tried, we controlled the game and we did well. It’s just sad because Lebo scored the goal. We won the game.

‘Mshishi [Zwane] is not interfering with play, he’s not even touching the ball. We won the game, it’s sad but what can we do?’ added the former Bafana Bafana coach.

Mosimane was, however, happy with the performance of his side and also reserved special praise for his colleague Steve Komphela for the job he is doing at Celtic.

‘As long as we play well, control the game, show dominance then we have a chance to score. It was a good game, I’m happy for my friend Steve, he’s hanging in there and doing very well,’ Mosimane concluded.
