Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he was pleased that Khama Billiat came back from his recent injury to score his first goal of the campaign against Platinum Stars last week.
The Zimbabwean international opened his account to help Sundowns claim a narrow 1-0 victory over Dikwena last week.
Billiat has also registered two assists from three appearances in all competitions so far this campaign.
Mosimane bemoaned Percy Tau’s disallowed goal, but insisted that he was pleased Billiat got on the scoresheet after returning from an injury setback.
‘I am happy to see Khama back,’ Mosimane said after the game.
‘He has been injured. It’s good for him to come and score.
‘Unfortunately Percy’s [Tau] goal was disallowed. I don’t know what happened, but I was not in a position to comment on that.’
The Sundowns mentor admits that the team’s morale is low after their elimination in the Caf Champions League quarter-final against Wydad Casablanca.
‘All in all you can see that we are coming from a shock. We were not really confident, we tried to keep the result, more than going forward,’ he added.
Mamelodi Sundowns will welcome Kaizer Chiefs to the Loftus Stadium on 18 October when the Absa Premiership returns, following the Fifa international break.
