Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane highlighted the individual contributions of Hlompho Kekana and Lucky Mohomi in his side’s 2-0 victory against Ajax Cape Town on Tuesday.
Goals by Percy Tau and Themba Zwane ensured Masandawna stay in contention to retain their Absa Premiership title, the result sees the Chloorkop based-outfit move into second spot on the table, two points behind Cape Town City, who have played two more games than them.
The former Bafana Bafana mentor stated the victory against Ajax was not as comfortable as the score-line suggests, in addition to revealing that the difference between him and Stanley Menzo’s outfit was experience.
‘A very difficult game. A very important win for us,’ he said in post-match comments.
‘We struggled a bit, they did not respect us
‘They pushed us in the first half but we had the experience especially how you saw we scored the goals, they pushed a high line and we managed to get behind them.
‘But I think Hlompho Kekana and Lucky Mohomi showed some leadership and experience. This game, we won it by experience. Not to say we were a better team, we were just more experienced,’ he added.
Sundowns will look to continue their quest to retain their league title when they face Golden Arrows in an Absa Premiership encounter on Friday.
The clash at the Princess Magogo Stadium is scheduled for 20:00.
