Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has suggested that the club could be in the market for a new striker after their troubles in front of goal surfaced again in the 0-0 draw against Baroka.

Since the departures of last season’s top scorer, Percy Tau, and the influential Khama Billiat, Sundowns have not quite looked their fluent selves so far this campaign.

Jeremy Brockie, Lebohang Maboe, Themba Zwane, Toni Silva and Gaston Sirino have all played their parts so far this season, and with Sibusiso Vilakazi still out for some time through injury, Mosimane admitted after the goalless draw with Baroka on Tuesday that he feels his side need more firepower.

‘’JB’ [Brockie] fought hard. He played well for us, to be honest,’ Mosimane told the media after the match.

‘But he was left alone there. That’s an area we need to reinforce, an additional striker.’

The result saw Downs remain in third on the log with 22 points from 12 matches, and they will next be in action in the Caf Champions League as they travel to Egypt to face Libyan outfit Al Ahly Benghazi in their first-round clash.
