SuperSport United goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse and Brandon Petersen of Ajax Cape Town have both recently been linked with Sundowns as Mosimane continues his search.
At the moment, Onyango remains Sundowns’ first-choice goalkeeper, while Mweene and Razak Brimah are battling it out for the No 2 spot.
Mosimane says he is in the market to sign a young shot-stopper for the future, who will be loaned out to get game time under his belt.

‘We are looking for a younger goalkeeper to come in and it’s important for the future. Unfortunately, we’ve got two good goalkeepers who play in South Africa, which is Kennedy and Denis, at the wrong age,’ Mosimane told KickOff.com.
‘You need a younger goalkeeper, a 23-year-old. He probably might not play, he may be loaned out. The pool of goalkeepers [in South Africa] is so small, hence we are all going there for the goalkeepers. You could say if [Itumeleng] Khune gets injured, can Virgil Vries play 12 games for [Kaizer] Chiefs? It’s the same with us. You can’t say Thela [Ngobeni] will play 15 games for us.’
