Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane insists that his side deserved their 2-0 victory over Orlando Pirates, following their display at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday.

The Brazilians secured their 16th win in the Absa Premiership after they beat Pirates at the Orlando Stadium, courtesy of goals by Khama Billiat and Krahire Zakri to claim all three points.
The 52-year-old insists that he was pleased with his side’s ability to deal with the likes of Thamsanqa Gabuza, and with their performance against a side battling for a place in the top eight.
‘We played against a team that is very good in the midfield and I’m happy we managed to do well in the midfield, but [Thamsanqa] Gabuza gave us problems in the first half with those long balls coming from Happy Jele, and we had runners in behind Thabo [Nthethe] and [Motjeka] Madisha, but we got it in at half-time [still 1-0 ahead],’ he told SuperSport.
‘I’m happy we won, but we didn’t just win, we played well, we played very well.’
He continued: ‘We got our chances and we finished them. Themba Zwane, he was unbelievable, especially the movement with [Mzikayise] Mashaba.’
Mosimane says Sundowns should focus on securing their place in the next season’s Caf Champions League, and not focus on winning the league.
‘We can’t worry about Wits because it [the title] is not in our hands. If it was in our hands, we could worry about it, but we should do what we have to do,’ the coach said.
‘And even if we don’t win the league, we must still win our last three games and maybe win a [Caf] Champions League spot. You can’t win everything – we just won the Champions League now in December, we just won the Super Cup now in February – we don’t have to win the league.’
Mamelodi Sundowns will look to close the gap at the top of the Absa Premiership table when they lock horns with Baroka on Wednesday.
The match at the Lucas Moripe Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
