Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says he was satisfied with his side’s performance against Golden Arrows at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Tuesday.
The Brazilians extended their lead at the top of the Absa Premiership standings to six points after claiming a narrow 1-0 victory over Abafana Bes’thende courtesy of a 25th minute penalty from Ricardo Nascimento.
Mosimane says he is happy with Sundowns overall performance and their ability to create numerous chances going forward, despite scoring one goal on the day.
‘We had our chances, we hesitated a bit. We could’ve scored more but probably the keeper was good or the execution wasn’t good,’ Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘But I can’t blame the boys because they arrived in the box and created chances.
‘They were able to punch holes in the defence. They tried to get the second, it wasn’t easy. I think Arrows played well, we were just better than them.’
Mamelodi Sundowns will now turn their attention to the Nedbank Cup when they take on Maritzburg United in the semi-final at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00.
