Mamelodi Sundowns president Patrice Motsepe has revealed that his club are chasing the signatures of two top players outside South Africa.

The Sundowns president spoke to the media on Thursday as he revealed that coach Pitso Mosimane has signed a new four-year-deal with the club.

Mosimane and Motsepe want to take Downs back to the summit of African football by wining the Caf Champions League, with the club already active in the transfer market aiming to beef up their squad.

Having already signed midfielder George Maluleka on a pre-contract from Kaizer Chiefs as well as Grant Margeman and Jody February for next season, Motsepe revealed that the club is looking outside the country for recruitments.

‘Yugesh [Singh] has done excellently, so has Kenneth [Makhanya], so has Sizwe [Ndimande] and the rest of the technical team,’ Motsepe said at a media briefing on Thursday.

‘All of the players who are part of our plans for the future, we feel comfortable the good work has been done. Part of the challenge is that two of the players we are chasing are not in South Africa.’

Sundowns currently have a full complement of foreign players in their squad, meaning if they are to bring in a player from overseas they will have to sell or deregister two of their current foreigners on the books.
