Orlando Pirates have confirmed that midfielder Ben Motshwari will miss their upcoming Absa Premiership clash with AmaZulu on Tuesday evening.
The 28-year-old suffered an injury during the Buccaneers 1-0 defeat by Highlands Park in their MTN8 quarter-final at the Orlando Stadium last Saturday.
The Pirates medical team has since confirmed that the Gauteng-born midfielder sustained a strain to his knee and will be unable to feature against Usuthu due to his rehabilitation.
The Buccaneers have released the following statement on Motshwari’s injury:
‘Orlando Pirates technical team has been dealt a blow ahead of their Absa Premiership tie against Amazulu tonight.
‘The Mighty Buccaneers will be without the services of midfielder Ben Motshwari, who picked up a knock in the loss to Highlands Park this past weekend. According to the medical team, Motshwari has strained his knee and will not play any part in the clash with Usuthu.
‘The hardworking midfielder is currently undergoing rehabilitation as the medical team works around the clock to get the 28-year-old ready for Bucs’ crucial CAF Champions League clash with Green Eagles this weekend.’
