Bidvest Wits forward Gift Motupa has opened up about rumours linking him to defending Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane recently revealed that he is looking to sign two players during the current transfer window.
Having already bagged 11 goals in 20 matches across all competitions, Mosimane could opt to signing the 25-year-old to add to his attacking options.
However, Motupa is flattered by the rumours linking him to Sundowns but has since confirmed that he has not been contacted by officials from Sundowns.
‘It’s a good thing [to be linked with Sundowns] but I cannot talk about that one,’ Motupa told the media after he was named Absa Premiership Player of the Month for December.
‘Because they compete in the Caf Champions League every season, which is an experience every player wants to have, and also win more trophies.
‘They’ve been winning more than all teams in the PSL for the past six years, so everyone would love be a part of that team.
‘No, they haven’t approached me. What I know is that they have approached my team, and I don’t know what happened [from there].’
He was further asked about the possibility of joining the Brazilians and Motupa said: ‘I’m happy where I am now, but if my team agrees then I will go.’
