Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele is hoping Amakhosi can walk away with maximum points against Cape Town City to stay in contention for the PSL title.

The Glamour Boys currently occupy fourth place in the Absa Premiership standings, level on 31 points with the Citizens with 10 games remaining in the season.

Mphahlele wants his side to claim all three points against City in order to keep their PSL title hopes alive.

‘It will be tough, but we need the three points to stay in contention for the league title,’ Mphahlele told his club’s website.

‘We just need to play as a team. We are still very much contenders for the league title.’

The former Mamelodi Sundowns captain says he is delighted to have returned to the field after a long-term knee injury.

‘It felt good to be back,’ he added.

‘Football has taught me so many lessons, and one is to be permanently on my toes.

‘I didn’t know beforehand that I would play against Arrows, but a player needs to be ever ready.’

Kaizer Chiefs are set to welcome Cape Town City to the FNB Stadium when the two sides go head-to-head in their mouth-watering Absa Premiership clash on Saturday, with kickoff set for 20:15.
