Orlando Pirates forward Augustine Mulenga says the club are happy with their progress they’ve made this campaign, despite not winning any silverware.
Having already secured their spot in next year’s Caf Champions League, the Buccaneers are set to end the Absa Premiership campaign in second place behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 28-year-old has already scored three goals and assisted a further one from six appearances in all competitions so far this season, since joining the club from Zambian outfit Zanaco during the January transfer window.
Mulenga believes the Buccaneers are in a good position to challenge for silverware next season.
‘It has been a long and tough season and, although we may not have won any silverware, we are happy with the progress we have made, and it puts us in a good position to challenge for trophies next season,’ Mulenga told his club’s official website.
‘Now coming to the last match of the season, it’s not about the players or the coaches. It is just about our supporters. We want to give them a good send-off and to thank them for the great support they always give us.
‘I am calling on all Orlando Pirates supporters to come to the stadium on Saturday, to come watch us thank them in the best way we know.’
Orlando Pirates will welcome Free State Stars to the Orlando Stadium when the two sides go head-to-head in their final Absa Premiership clash on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3pm.
