Kaizer Chiefs striker Ryan Moon is not concerned by his lack of game-time, insisting that his time will come for the Absa Premiership giants.

The 22-year-old forward is yet to establish himself as a regular starter in Chiefs’ starting XI with the Soweto giants since his arrival at the club from Maritzburg United in 2016.

The brother of former Bafana Bafana international Bryce Moon was a rare bright spark under former coach Steve Komphela in a season which lacked highlights and brought further misery to the Soweto giants.

With Chiefs having brought in a whole host of star-studded attackers in Leonardo Castro, Khama Billiat and Lebogang Manyama to mention a few, Moon has went down the pecking order in Giovanni Solinas’ hierarchy.

‘Look, this is football. Sometimes you up and sometimes you are down. The most important thing is to work hard and put God first and don’t change how you were working before. Stick to the same routine and keep working hard. Your time will come and when it comes you must be ready,’ Moon was quoted as saying by The Mercury.

‘You’ve got to be patient in this game. You got to be humbled, you got to wait for your chance.

‘Two factors that are keeping me going. One is God and secondly is the family support. My support base has been good. They have done it before with Bryce (his elder brother) when things were not going well for him. They know how to handle me. They have been great so far,” Moon elaborated.

‘I learn everyday under them. It is all about learning and bring that into my own game. In as much as they are good players, I’m also a good player. The most important thing is competition. The competition is great. We all have to keep on working hard,’ he concluded.

Moon will be hoping to make Chiefs’ matchday squad when they face Black Leopards in their Telkom Knockout Cup opener on Sunday afternoon with kickoff set for 3:30pm.
