Kaizer Chiefs defender Njabulo Ngcobo admits he is getting used to playing the role of defensive midfielder following his man-of-the-match performance against Maritzburg United.
The Soweto giants are starting to pick up pace and have won four out of five games after Bernard Parker’s solitary goal at the Harry Gwala Stadium this past weekend earned Amakhosi maximum points and their second consecutive win.
The result moved Amakhosi up to sixth place in the DStv Premiership standings on 18 points, having won five, drawn three and lost three in 11 matches.
Ngcobo, who has been relishing his new position, is hoping the Soweto giants can maintain their current momentum when they welcome AmaZulu to the FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
“We’re getting there as a team, for now we are doing OK. I’m getting used to playing in the midfield,” Ngcobo told the club’s official website.
“For us getting three points means a lot. Our performance is boosting us. We need to keep working hard and maintain what we’re doing, so we can get maximum points [against AmaZulu].”
Kaizer Chiefs against AmaZulu kicks off at 5:30pm.
