Mamelodi Sundowns defender Anele Ngcongca has agreed to sign a one-year contract extension with the club.
The 32-year-old’s current contract was due to expire in June 2020, but his agent, Mike Makaab, has since confirmed that a new agreement has been reached with the club.
Ngcongca has been a regular starter for Pitso Mosimane this season and has already featured 29 times for Sundowns, while scoring one goal and assisting a further one in the process.
‘On principle, we’ve agreed on a new deal with Mamelodi Sundowns who want to retain the services of Anele Ngcongca,’ Makaab told IOL.
‘We’ve agreed and it is a matter of finalising the documentation.’
Makaab added that his client is satisfied with the terms as there will be an option to extend the deal beyond next season.
‘No, we are fine with that. We discussed this with Anele and Sundowns. It is a one-plus-one contract. We are absolutely fine with that,’ he added.
