Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siyabonga Nkosi believes George Maluleka has the potential to fill the void left by Reneilwe Letsholonyane at Amakhosi and even surpass him.
The 28-year-old has scored 10 goals and assisted a further 14 from 104 appearances in all competitions since joining Amakhosi from SuperSport United in January 2014.
Nkosi thinks that Maluleka possesses all the attributes to become an even better midfielder than Letsholonyane was at the club.
‘He can easily do that. You can see the potential there. I think over and above what Yeye has, George has that special quality of finishing and getting the ball in the net every now and then,’ Nkosi told Soccer Laduma.
‘He is a natural finisher, so I think he can be better than Yeye in the way of getting more goals for the team.
‘He is the type of midfielder who can be one of the top goalscorers this season. He is a Frank Lampard kind of midfielder.
‘I think if he gets his mind right and if he gets used in the right positions, he can do even better than Yeye,’ he concluded.
Kaizer Chiefs will next take on AmaZulu at the King Zwelithini Stadium on 22 November when the Absa Premiership returns following the international break.
