Orlando Pirates winger Riyaad Norodien admits to having endured a difficult season and cited his injury to the lack of game time he has received this campaign.

The former Ajax Cape Town man joined the Soweto giants at the start of the season in a deal which included Abbubaker Mobara, but the 22-year-old has enjoyed limited game time, featuring 14 times in all competitions for the Sea Robbers.

“To be honest, it has been a disappointing season because I have been out with injury,” Norodien told kickoff.

“The last injury took me about three months to recover from so it has been disappointing, but with the new season coming I feel I can offer more and hope to not be injured and give the team something extra as a winger.

‘Skilo’ as the player is fondly known also revealed that his side are gradually taking to coach Kjell  Jonevret’s style of play.

“The coach’s philosophy, you can see he is coming from Europe and in Scandinavia where he has been coaching.

“You can see the philosophy and what he brings, the less you concede the better for the team because the one chance you get you score and you win the game.

“So for us it is important that we don’t concede and we take the first opportunity, secure the backline and then we can get the result,” he concluded.
